The Comrex ACCESS Portable allows high-quality, low-delay mono or stereo audio to be delivered reliably over wired or wireless public Internet. This technology will revolutionize the way remotes are delivered, offering high quality audio from virtually anywhere with little or no prior planning needed. ACCESS is capable of utilizing DSL, broadband Cable, POTS and T1/E1 as well as wireless circuits like satellite, Wi-Fi, EVDO and other 3G wireless data networks. ACCESS is also a full-featured POTS codec.

ACCESS includes 8 BRIC (Broadcast Reliable Internet Codec) algorithms to accommodate a variety of jittery or difficult circuits. Also available is an optional suite of standard AAC algorithms for optimized audio quality when used on managed data networks. An optional “clip-on” mixer provides five additional mic/line inputs and headphone outputs.

Each frequency-agile AM, FM and HD Radio Multicast tuner is equipped with separate analog and digital balanced outputs, streaming RS232 PAD data outputs and six programmable dry, floating contact alarm relays—18 relays, total. 

Each tuner stores 20 AM and 20 FM presets, decodes HD-1 through HD-8 multicast channels and displays signal strength, multipath, HD Radio PAD data and analog RBDS data. Indicators report HD Locked, Multicast Present, Delay Bit Set and Tuner Alarm.

The M3.0X can also trigger an alarm on loss of RF Carrier, OFDM Lock, RBDS data stream, PAD data stream, Multicast Available, and Delay Bit. You can even set Alarm Delay for all alarms to match your format.

RF sensitivity and IF rejection is unsurpassed. Each tuner has a separate antenna input, or internal jumpers can be strapped for a common antenna. Dual power supplies provide total isolation between RF and audio sections.

Telos Zephyr/IP
The newest member of its award-winning Zephyr family of broadcast codecs:

To ensure that those remotes are smooth and error-free, Zephyr/IP utilizes ACT - Agile Connection Technology - to continuously adapt to network conditions, minimizing the effects of packet loss, jitter, latency and varying bandwidth. ACT's sophisticated error detection and concealment routines, dynamic buffering and other techniques work together to provide stable, reliable IP audio connections.

"Getting reliable, low-delay audio from the Internet is a much greater challenge than transmitting over a closed LAN or a network with Quality of Service guarantees," according to Rolf Taylor, Telephony Product Manager for Telos.
