Sony Lavaliers

Our customers choose Sony condenser lavs above all others. These mics ignore unwanted noise and give you the convenience of battery operation.  The ECM-77B, a mere 1.5 grams, is Sony’s tiniest lavalier, an unobtrusive, high performance omni with the best bandwidth of the four. The popular ECM-55Bhas an omni pattern and is recommended for the widest applications. The ECM-66B has a uni pattern ideal for musical instruments.

The economical ECM-44B is omnidirectional;  it includes a foam windscreen, while the other models include a metal mesh. All versions are matte black; all conveniently take “AA” cells; all but the 44B accept 48V phantom. Case and clips included. Also available: unterminated versions for wireless systems.

Shure MX Series Lavaliers

The MX184 supercardioid condenser lav solves problems of extraneous sound and gain-before-feedback, so pick it for talk shows and other noisy environments. The cardioid MX185 provides an intermediate pattern for directional use. For less complex applications, the omni MX183 is an excellent choice. All have a frequency response dip at 730Hz that minimizes the “chest resonance” effect; and include tie clip, cable, and MX1BP preamp.

Audio-Technica AT895

When you need to capture the subtlety of an individual sound, Audio-Technica brings a new standard in audio acquisition, the AT895 Adaptive Array.   The AT895 incorporates a revolutionary DSP-controlled five-element microphone array that provides adaptive directional audio acquisition perfect for handheld interview use or long-range sound pickup in the field, in the studio, or in security operations.

Utilizing Audio-Technica’s proprietary DeltaBeam technology, the AT895 System manipulates and filters the output of the array by acoustical, analog and digital means. This process enhances the pickup of a sound source from a desired direction relative to unwanted background noise or interference, providing cancellation of up to 80 dB. Background interference, mechanical noise, wind noise, proximity effect-all are minimized automatically. And, unlike some attempts at directive devices, the audio quality remains wideband and natural.  Two components are at the heart of every AT895 System: the AT895 Microphone and the AT895CP control pack.

The AT895 Microphone itself is all analog, housing one Audio-Technica MicroLine¨ element, four A-T cardioid elements mounted in a co-planar diamond configuration, and five mic preamps. The five amplified analog signals from the microphone elements are sent individually down a special detachable cable to the AT895CP Control Pack.  The AT895CP Control Pack provides all the power, Digital Signal Processing, and control for the AT895. Output from the Control Pack is analog at mic-level (-23dBV). The lightweight, sturdy metal housing accepts a quick-change, click-on battery housing for totally self-contained operation, if desired. The Control Pack also operates on external 12-14VDC-from an Anton/Bauer or similar-type battery source, or from an AC adapter-via an industry-standard 4-pin XLR-type connection. The AT895 is available as the AT895/RK “Remote Kit” for field use, and as the AT895/MK “Mount Kit” for studio and fixed-install applications. Call Bradley to discuss your particular application.

Crown Pressure Zone Microphones

Crown PZM mics use the pressure zone at an acoustic boundary, such as a floor or table surface, to eliminate distortion and comb filtering problems.

 (1) The PCC-160 is for stage floors, lecterns, and TV news desks. The large surface increases sensitivity and prevents phase problems; its supercardioid pattern minimizes background noise. Balanced low impedance output.

15' cable included.  Takes 12-48V phantom.

(2) The PZM-185 with attached 8' cable, has a balanced low impedance output. This model is suited to broadcast production, conferences, and recording. It’s powered by an internal “N” cell or external phantom power.

The Sound Grabber (not pictured) is a very affordable, portable PZM powered by an “AA” cell.

It looks similar to the PZM-185 but has an unbalanced high-impedance output, 10' cable to 1/8" TS plug, and adapters for 1/4" TS phone and 3/32" TS applications. All models listed are black; the PCC-160 can also be ordered in white.
